The standalone Gwent version started sucking the moment all the competitive gamers got their hands on it. Then it was all about optimising the game to death, all the decks got streamlined. I came back to the game after a longer break and it was almost completely different, and my favourite faction had been so drastically altered that I couldn’t get back into it.
Re the first part: nobody enters my house if they don’t have a key and I’m not present. Re the second part, I don’t trust any software-based technology near enough to rely on that kind of stuff without double-checking. . Turn the key, done.
To this day I don’t know what problem smart locks are supposed to solve that hasn’t already been solved by the good old lock and key combo. Requires no electricity, no internet, just works.
That means they’re not for your ears. Not that they’re designed to inflict pain. I’ve had those AirPods, they were fine for me - and my ears don’t like most earbuds that get shoved in there, and sometimes even start hurting from over-ear headphones. I now have the Airpod Pros and they’re even better, all that goes into your ear is the silicone bud, no rigid plastic in the mix.
Any company with reasonably involved processes (read: more than three steps) should have clearly documented SOPs, policies and process documentation. This has nothing to do with the level people are at. I’m at senior level and sure as shit don’t remember every detail of something that was verbally communicated to me months ago unless I do it every single day, and even that’s error-prone. I write step by step instructions on processes for myself and everyone else.

Totally. That’s why they never made adapters and never included cabled earphones with lightning plug. It was AirPods or nothing.

If you were being serious: iPhones have had headphone jacks until 2016, the iPhone 7 was the first to come without one.
I believe it was for waterproofing. One less port means less sealing, making it easier to improve the waterproofing of the phone.
I couldn’t possibly tell you how many sets of wired headphones I’ve had to throw out in my life because of frayed/broken cables. Those things are e-waste too.
Ever since I’ve gotten some decent noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones, I don’t really care where the headphone jack is or even if there is one. It happened way too many times that the cable got snagged on something and yanked the buds out of my ears, and I’m well past the age where I had the cable under my shirt and the earbuds dangling in front of me all the time. Especially when running or otherwise exercising, I don’t miss the cable one tiny bit.
The space race didn’t end with the moon landings. The USSR launched the first manned space station program - which became crucial in the development of the ISS - and performed the first landings of probes on Mars and Venus. The space race effectively only ended when the Cold War ended, and I think historians could spend days arguing who actually ‘won’ it.
Thanks to capitalism, almost every aspect of society is being viewed through the lens of economics. Profit and loss, surplus and deficit. We’re privatising everything that promises to make a profit for someone, no matter the drawbacks - healthcare, education, water supply. Everything else is being neglected even destroyed. Politics is utterly beholden to economic concerns (read: the will of wealthy donors). Which is one of the reasons why we don’t have a carbon tax. The free market doesn’t work in a system where growth and profit trump everything. We’re literally running government like a business.
We literally have a pandemic going on in which millions of people have died completely preventable deaths in only a few years, but we didn’t try to prevent those deaths for economic concerns. We literally had capitalists tell us that it’s better to let those people die so we can save the economy. That’s just one example of how completely and utterly capitalism has fucked up our society.
But sure, climate change is a political problem.
