I know there are some notepads that divers use but I was more hoping for something specifically for the shower that I could maybe stick to the wall like a waterproof whiteboard maybe? I’ve had no success searching online unfortunately.
Never have I related to shower thoughts. For one it’s too short to do any thinking in there. Also, I don’t really want to think in the shower. If I’m relaxing, it’s head empty in the stream of water.
Same goes for singing in the shower, it was always a TV thing.
My point is how many people actually do anything in the shower besides washing (mostly)?
Also there are those stone notepads. The paper ir smooth and water proof, can be written with a pencil or a pen (not a fountain one tho, but that’s not relevant in the shower either way). I tried it once as a daily notebook and I didn’t like it. With a mechanical pen after some writing it grips the core by the sharper angle and breaks it.
My showers range from 2 minutes and 45 minutes, some of them definitely have thinking time.
I also sing in the shower, but I have a Bluetooth speaker I take in with me so I’m just singing along.
You could try remembering things. Might be good practice.
I mean, we’re not exactly talking about a dream upon waking here…and you can remember those too with practice.
Tell me you’re neurotypical without telling me you’re neurotypical.
I would recommend not doing that. The shower is for you the place to let your mind wander. If you want to capture that you will stress yourself and your last place where your mind was free will be gone.
Which is exactly why he wants to capture the thoughts.
Not everyone is like you, don’t assume they approach the shower the way you do.
I’ve solved long-standing technical work problems in the shower.
I don’t think they are saying that you can’t solve problems in the shower, but that this meditative thought process is limited in the first place by an intentional work mentality.
exactly what I wanted to express.
This is not true for everybody. Consider offering your view as an alternative perspective OP should consider, instead of presenting it as fact.
Where do I state it as a fact? No it is just a subjective recommendation.
Where do I state it as a fact?
Probably when you use “is” and “will”
Maybe also the generic you? Sometimes it feels a bit imperative like in this occasion.
Set your phone just outside the shower with a voice recording app on and recording?
Bonus points if you sing out the ideas, and even more if you can rhyme them.
A bold idea
Oh, how it lingers
Tiny cocks
For all of my fingers
Then feed it through a transcriber.
If you have a phone with voice recognition, I sure you can just have it auto dictate when you ask it to.
Aqua Notes!
I got a friend these as a gift, he really liked it.
There are waterproof pencil and paper sets that you can attach to the wall with suction cups. I have a set and use it pretty frequently when I have some sudden shower inspiration that I don’t want to lose.
Fecal smearing, if you have tile, works pretty well.
Works anywhere but in the shower though.
We must have different diets.
We could team up for optimal results.
Comments like this I wish I could upvote for the laugh and simultaneously downvote on principle lol. XD
A third option would be nice.
I mean, you could set your phone outside the shower and record your shower, just speak out your idea and transcribe it after the shower.
My younger brother has afriends that is a Brazilian math wizard. He does his best work in the shower. He writes his thoughts on the steam in the shower glass and has a water proof camera nearby to take pictures before they vanish.
I just convince myself that they are not very good ideas. (RIP Mitch Hedburg).
If you have glass partitions try a grease pencil or oil based crayon on the glass(There’s another name but I’m brain-farting on it. Oil pastels, maybe. Gah, medication that effects your memory sucks.).
You could maybe fab up a thick glass pane with a plastic backer and keep it in the shower. Hanging it might be tricky. I used to love hitting up the weird leftover building supply type places or even flea markets for weird stuff to repurpose.
The white board idea works, but you’d need one, with pen, that is specifically water proof.
Maybe experiment with different pieces of plastic from your local big box or hardware store and a grease pencil.
Grease pencil should write on just about any surface in the shower.
Good idea!
Grease pen on the shower wall.
Seriously, I do this too! Then after my shower I’ll come back and take a photo with my phone so I don’t lose it.
Red as blood, hopefully…
If there was ever a good use case for a voice assistant, this would be it.
Bath crayons
This is the correct answer!
I don’t use them in the shower, but you can get wetnotes from stores that sell scuba gear. Something like this should be good https://scubapro.johnsonoutdoors.com/us/shop/accessories/wetnotes-underwater-notebook
