I just opened youtube, and literally between every video on the home screen was the same adbanner for this stupid movie This was never this extreme for me. Is something similar happening for some of you, or is this just rng?
I haven’t seen a YouTube ad in over a decade.

Not many people here I guess, because most people here use ad blockers.
I couldn’t stop giggling at the ad banner I saw for it. Something about imagining Godzilla gnawing on a kong (Dog toy) and losing.
Not a one for me. Probably not random, though; I have targeted advertising turned off. Probably you’re recognized as being in a specific demographic they want. Change your settings and see if they go away.

Can confirm Ublock Origin is an absolute godsend! YouTube forcing me to watch multiple 3-minute long ads just to watch a 2-minute video was driving me nuts!
Honestly I would probably just stop using YouTube altogether if I was forced to use it unmodified.

I’m more swarmed with the fact that when I updated my repatched yt app I now have to open videos in Newpipe because videos will usually within in the first couple minutes go to the black buffer screen indefinitely.

Might need to uninstall/disable videos opening in the YouTube app but yeah this combo works great.
Naw, haven’t seen an ad in years, because I use Adblockers.
