Here, for a while at McDonald’s there was a 🍔 called “the 1955” and it was the best, big pieces of onion, an special sauce, buns and big piece of beef with bacon (for Europe standards anyways) it disappeared once and came back for an encore only to be removed again and never return.
Idk if this counts but the people who make Nettle’s sausage changed their recipe and now the sausage sucks
The Arby’s Triple Cheese Melt. I think they stopped making it by the late 90s. Every once in a while it would show up again randomly and go away again a few weeks later but I don’t think I’ve seen one since like 2005
McPizza
McRibs return when the price of pork is low.
McDs also had an excellent salad wrap for a couple of years.
Foot long chili dogs.
Sonic still has those.
Taco Bell Choco-Taco. Yeah, the reanimated corpse of it lives on in some gas station frozen sections, but it’s a shitty product. The original one sold at Taco Bell in the 90s was god tier.
I hate to tell you, but even the shitty Choco Tacos were discontinued a few years ago
It doesn’t matter. They were dead to me a long time ago.
Just have 2, they’re probably not that expensive.
Jack in the Box had the world’s best cheese sticks. I’ll forever miss them.
Santa Fe items at Taco Bell. Also the Volcano Nachos.
Carl’s Jr. recently discontinued their Beyond Famous Star, which I honestly think tasted better than a regular Famous Star.
Yeah the Arch Deluxe was seriously amazing
Burger King had actual Mac&Cheese burger patties for a very brief period and it was the best thing ever.
SmashBurger did the same and also had a spicy version that was awesome; also gone 😔
The Double Decker taco came back for like a month last year and I went to Taco Bell probably eight times once I realized it because it’s my favorite and I’m super pissed that they won’t just make one for me even though they have all of the ingredients, FFS.
It’s not illegal to make one at home.
I’ve tried. The thing that’s hard to replicate is the beans, actually. Though I’ve mostly used canned refried beans; I’ve been meaning to get a can of whole pintos and mash them myself, and see if that helps.
You’ll probably want to start with dry beans. Canned ones are likely just going to be beans boiled in regular water. Meant to be an ingredient in something rather than the star. But if you make from scratch you can add in flavors: onion, garlic, etc.
Plenty of recipes online.
When making refried beans make sure to use pork fat of some kind. I use bacon fat.
Thanks!
The original Enchirito. It was fairly large and had more sauce and cheese.
Also the Bell Burger.
