I think about how some languages like Japanese are like this, and then I think about how stereotypical “caveman” grammar in English is kind of structured like those languages, and I get a little uncomfortable at the implications…

Not really, but I’m not even sure the character herself would qualify it as rape based on her upbringing, so that could be why.

I don’t get people who say they “can’t cook”. Anyone can cook basic recipes…. No, the real issue is that they lack the willpower to cook. I say this as someone who dislikes cooking. I can do it if I need to (or rarely, if I feel inspired), and hell, I can do it well! But I detest the idea of spending like an hour cooking every day when I could just buy premade things like frozen meals or whatever and save myself the time. If my wife didn’t like cooking, that’s what I’d be doing for dinner each night (I already do it for lunch basically).

If their population say, reduces to like 25% of it’s peak, then that means they won’t have enough people to do all the jobs that need to get done. Immigrants would alleviate that issue to some degree.

I hate them too… to me, they drive like they walk around stores (Especially at Costco!). They’re either very slow and in the way, with no self awareness of that fact, or right on your ass, pressuring you. Almost no inbetween these days.

I listen to audiobooks when driving as well and am PRETTY sure i have ADHD (haven’t gotten officially diagnosed yet). For me, it… “distracts” the part of my brain that wants to get frustrated at all the bad drivers/traffic slowdowns. Unless things get particularly hectic, like trying to make it to an exit in time in dense traffic, it usually works great, and if I find myself not taking in certain parts, I tap a button on my audiobook app that goes back 30 seconds so I can properly understand it.
It’s a great combo, because like you, if I’m just sitting at home listening to an audiobook, I get “partially bored” and start looking at random stuff online. But when driving, well, that part of my brain is focused on driving, so I don’t get bored like that.
Yeah but if that’s pretty much ALL that people talk about, then it just exists to perpetuate itself essentially, and what’s the point of that? There needs to be diversity, or the platform will never grow substantially.
You’re missing the point…
Speaking of unnecessary dental procedures: veneers… hoo boy, so many people (especially celebrities) get them unnecessarily, and permanently fuck up their teeth as a result.
