I bought that, but I forgot to take it.
I’ve only been to 18 countries but there aren’t any I wouldn’t go back to. My home country of the USA has become a shithole, but there are some people there I will probably go back to visit at some point, most notably my son. Although he’s coming to visit me first. Maybe I can hold out until the orange stain is removed.

If you come to Taiwan you will starve.
Eh, I think a lot of people cling to ridiculous superstitions because the world is scary. I get impatient sometimes with stuff like that. I can’t whistle at night, I can’t go to the beach during ghost month, I have to pay my wife a dollar if she buys me shoes, etc. I think it’s all silly but I wouldn’t trade my wife for anything.

I think he’s really mixed up. He is saying that promoting equal rights for everyone is divisive. But what could be more divisive than dividing people into groups and assigning different rights to each division?

I’ve been trying to find cool stuff on PeerTube. Sometimes it feels like wandering in the wilderness. I guess people really only do post cool stuff to YouTube for the money. I found this, though it was pretty cool. https://video.mycrowd.ca/w/8wu8fRidkbjQ1FK3zqo1Mp

I wouldn’t hesitate to walk that far for a library, but realistically I’d take my cruiser bike for that distance. I’ve heard people tend to cite around 15-20 minutes as the maximum walk length that is considered “walkable,” but I’ve often chosen walking longer distances than that even when other options were available. For dense urban areas, I’d rather walk that take a bus unless it’s really far. Sometimes I get passed up by the same bus 5 or 6 times along the way. I agree with others who have said that time estimate sounds way long.

The violent crime rate is significantly lower than it was in the 1980s. So there’s that.

Boring English name. It’s fine.
I met someone with my same first and last name when they called my name to come up to the podium at the airport gate and two of us showed up.

🤣 yeah no format change. Got me.
The data changes every day. And it’s been getting more and more depressing.

Super niche, but water-data.com
It lists current and historical water levels, inflow and outflow data for all of the reservoirs in the upper Colorado River basin. It’s all html tables and graphs.
I’v been watching it for at least 20 years and I don’t think it has ever changed.

Yes but you must acknowledge the crowding out effect. There are only so many screens. If so many are taken up by the never-ending sequel/adaptation/remake churn, that leaves precious little chance to actually see something original. If you’re a movie buff, I could see how that could become frustrating, even if you never watch any of the content you don’t like.

No. It should be declared a public health hazard and anyone who was exposed should be entitled to significant financial compensation.
Just kidding.
Mostly.

O my god you’re right!

Oh, yah, all the time. And then another stranger will change it back. I’m pretty impressionable.

The 7-11 sells (and smells like) herbal tea eggs. That may be more than just here though. I can’t remember if this applies in Japan as well. But definitely Taiwan.

I read a book by Jim Holt called “Why Does the World Exist?” It tried to probe the question of why is there something instead of nothing. It was rigorous, too, not just trivial. He made an examination of all the greatest minds throughout the history of philosophy who have tackled these essential questions. After like 400 pages of really hard work, it pretty much boils down to, “who the fuck knows?” I think we just gotta assume it’s all real and enjoy the ride while we’re here.

Pitted olives got me in a similar fashion.
