  • So you can likely earn in another role. The key is to make them believe that you chose to be here, rather than anywhere else. And that may involve lying because management don’t want to hear it’s because of your short commute and relatively easy workload. But, maybe you are there because you think that they are doing good work in whatever field? Maybe they do offer you great experience for your career. Maybe you do have a great team?

    And maybe you don’t. In which case it is platitudes time, tell them what they want to hear and volunteer for things more. But also, maybe time to get that CV brushed up too?



  • So as much as I dislike crypto, it is basically built to be enshitification proof. And hence a good fit for the fediverse. But I wouldn’t want to touch the crypto ecosystem with a ten foot pole, nevermind a lemmy/mastodon integration

    Which leaves us at the behest of traditional payment processors, and they are all faceless conglomerates who care not for anyone. Meaning we’re fucked there too

    Maybe we should instead not bring transactions to the fediverse













  • At 21 what you know about you can fit in a lunchbox. So talk about what you’d like to know more about instead. Could be some self improvement, could be educational, could be travel, could be musical. You get the idea.

    You were gifted two ears and one mouth too. Ask questions, listen to the answer then delve deeper into that topic with a follow on. Aim for a 2:1 listening to talking, but it isn’t a hard rule.

    You also have a passion (or you wouldn’t even be on lemmy!). Think about what makes it great and share it if you are asked.
