Call me crazy but with a 5b ipo about to start I’d be shocked if reddit wasn’t paying some troll farms to brigade the fediverse and it’d be a shame if spez wins

If I was designing an anti troll/bot system I’d implement a few things. Let’s call any bad actor on here a bot/troll or broll for ease.

1. Reputation based posting isn’t a bad idea if carefully done
2. When a broll is banned any users from the same ip are flagged a suspect and a subsequent ban causes delayed posting from that ip. If a VPN the instance host list has the same effect applied. Exceptions based on Reputation.
3. You can check if text is ai/llm generated and an automated api check before posting and immediate ban if found.
4. Checks on if a user posts inhumanly fast or is oddly active etc would be sensible.
5. Any broll system has to be adaptive and measures taken need to be kept secret (this post for example).

I’m pretty sure I’ve spotted bots circle jerking on some subjects also which makes me think there’s a few different sources.

There are slaves, just low numbers because it’s illegal. There’s also a lot of working arrangements with illegal immigrants that look very similar in a bad light.

In fairness most western countries have a low level of slavery - they found some forced labour on a farm in Australia a few years back for example.

If you’re asking if any US state wants to legalise slavery, it’s extremely unpopular everywhere, except in a few niche pointy white hat communities.

You seem to be using the cost of regulation as an excuse against decriminalisation or legalisation of prostitution which i find wild.

Firstly a slightly higher cost to cover overhead would be fine for most johns if they didn’t have to risk jail I’d imagine. I’m also sceptical that would even be needed. My understanding is currently in the US pimps take the majority of what sex workers earn.

Remember theres also tax revenue generated here so that would easily cover any government oversight…or does in other countries.

Also take into account that cost of not regulating is far far far higher. It’s like the cost of homelessness - it costs massive amounts to a community oddly! The medical, policing, social services etc etc not to mention cost in terms of violence from criminal behaviour, drug addiction etc etc… At the end of the day it bringing people into society is a far better option for all.
