How do you like Nostr? I have a friend that’s really passionate about but I just don’t get it.

I feel like the first week is actually the hardest. Then I start getting excited when I improve my times or distance and it becomes so much easier.
My problem is that vacations and winter really ruin my motivation. Who wants to run for an hour when it’s pouring rain or freezing outside?

It’s funny, I used that program several years ago when I didn’t exercise at all. Currently running around 9km, three times a week.
I have this unrealistic dream to run the marathon but I feel like even if I could physically do it, I’d get bored. Half marathon seems doable, though.

Have you tried this “not stopping” technique yourself? Sounds like snake oil, to be honest…

Any tips to run 20k without stopping?

I find if more confusing than annoying, at times. If the emphasizing is getting on the way of being clear, you should maybe use some other way to emphasize it.
“I’m literally broke” shouldn’t be a statement open to interpretation, in my person opinion. The internet and lack of familiarity with strangers just aggravates the problem.

I have a personal grudge against a Portuguese grammar mistake. The mistake is so basic and heavily predominant that I often question myself if I’m the one writing it wrong. I already know I’m correct but I still google it from time to time. Drives me insane.
The mistake is something like “Open hours: 9 to 17”. The “to” translates to “às” but a lot of businesses type “ás” or even “hás”. Crazy.

On Lemmy it’s hard to know if it’s their native language or not, be forgiving!

I am sometimes guilty of this. I incorrectly assume the lights are looping and I just have to wait my turn.

My favorite movie is the Matrix (the first one). Gutted by what they did in the sequels.
Favorite genre is definitely Fantasy, love the world building in these movies.

A couple of years ago, in Portugal, there were more couples looking to adopt than “viable” children up for adoption. While your statement makes total sense, it may be a insensible option on your country. Make due research!

All the time. Sometimes I’ll write an entire wall of text, correct all the typos I could find and then delete it. “Why bother? This person is just not going to consider a different opinion, just save yourself the pointless discussion.”
I’ve been on both sides of this table. Yes, I wish people would move away from WhatsApp but that’s not going to happen. They’re not going to even make an effort to begin to understand Signal just to talk to me. I could just not use WhatsApp and use Signal to talk to myself, that’d be fun.
I understand their frustration as well, people already have too many message apps already. WhatsApp, telegram, hangouts, SMS, Slack, Discord… When asked to install a new app they are naturally reluctant to install yet another messaging app just to talk to me and only me. I too have that one friend who bugs me every couple of months to install the new cool message app that is going around. Currently that SimpleX, wonder what comes next.

Proton drive is okay but if you rely on editing the docs online… That’s a rough one

In the last months I tried to cut as many Google services as I could. I use the Proton suite now, it’s nice.
Unfortunately I still heavily rely on them for Android phone and TVs… Not to mention YouTube, which is yet to have a good competitor.

I always thought pretty good was better than good. Honestly surprised to find out I may have been wrong my entire life.

It’s a shame, really. Putting the old account in the bio doesn’t really address the issue.
An option to migrate your account should be more than very very low priority, lemmy.ml is struggling hard. How many people are stuck in that server because they don’t want to abandon their data?
Don’t really want to turn this into a discussion tho, you have answered my question and I thank you very much for it!

My account is only 6 days old so it’s not much a problem today, but this can be a recurring problem and if no migration path is available I might have to consider self-hosting or leaving lemmy altogether.
